God's Mercy...in unlikely places...
While there have been number of setbacks in my preparations, today has been a day of mercies for me.
It began with (at long last!) contact with the student prez of the Christian Fellowship I’ll be working with. This may sound odd, but it is a comfort to simply know I’m expected, not to mention welcomed!!
Next came a rather longer than planned trip to My Bank (which shall remain nameless). What began as a simple deposit mission became an involved discussion with the two lapsed Catholics on the help desk, who decided it was their mornings work to find every loophole they could to keep my accounts fee-free. After nearly an hour or ringing around and much paper-pushing, my account and card will remain free until half-way through my time OS, my credit card limit has been extended, and I’ve been quoted travel insurance a few hundred cheaper than anywhere else!
Finally, I went to the pharmacy to pick up my year’s supply of anti-malarial medicine. My chemists’ (who, despite being firmly Muslim, seem very fond of the idea of my going on mission) kindness and the forethought of my family doctor meant that twenty four bottles (normally around seventy dollars each) came to thirty bucks for the whole lot.
Praise God for the blessings He lavishes on His servants!

It’s amazing, in a world you’d expect so much opposition to the message going out, to get such signs of support. Always shout out these positive signs, no matter where they come from – they are a miracle!

God is in control of all
